As Chair of the Wisconsin Latino Chamber of Commerce, I have the privilege of serving an organization whose mission is deeply personal to me.
I grew up in a family of migrant farmworkers from South Texas. Like so many families, we went where the work was. We learned the value of sacrifice, resilience, and perseverance. We understood that success was never guaranteed and that every opportunity had to be earned through hard work, determination, and faith. Those lessons have shaped every chapter of my life.
Along the way, I learned something else that continues to guide me today: no one succeeds alone. A single person can work hard. A single entrepreneur can build a business. A single business can create jobs. But when people come together around a shared purpose, they become something far greater than the sum of their individual efforts. That belief is at the heart of who we are as a Chamber.
Today, in my professional role, I have the opportunity to work alongside entrepreneurs and business owners throughout Wisconsin. Every day, I meet people who are building businesses, creating jobs, supporting their families, and investing in their communities. Their industries may be different. Their backgrounds may be different. Their journeys may be different. Yet they all share something in common.
Resilience.
The willingness to keep moving forward despite uncertainty. The courage to take risks when success is not guaranteed. The determination to build something meaningful for themselves, their families, and future generations. That same resilience defines Wisconsin’s Latin@ business community.
For more than two decades, the Wisconsin Latino Chamber of Commerce has stood alongside entrepreneurs as a trusted partner, advocate, and resource. We serve as a bridge between business owners, corporate partners, community leaders, policymakers, and economic opportunities across our state. Through technical assistance, business education, mentorship, networking, advocacy, access to capital, procurement opportunities, and strategic partnerships, we help entrepreneurs start, grow, and scale their businesses.
Our work is rooted in a simple belief: when entrepreneurs succeed, communities prosper. While we proudly champion Wisconsin’s Latin@ business community, our mission extends beyond any one group. We support both Latino and non-Latino businesses by fostering innovation, creating opportunity, and promoting equitable participation in Wisconsin’s economy. We believe that a stronger and more inclusive business environment creates lasting benefits for everyone.
Over the years, we have seen entrepreneurs transform ideas into thriving enterprises. We have seen businesses grow from kitchen tables to storefronts, from side hustles to employers, and from dreams to lasting legacies. We have seen business owners create jobs, strengthen neighborhoods, revitalize communities, and contribute to Wisconsin’s economic future. These success stories are the reason we do this work.
As we look ahead, we are proud of the impact we have made, but we are even more excited about what lies ahead. Our vision is bold. We aspire to be Wisconsin’s premier resource for networking, economic development, and public policy advocacy. We will continue strengthening partnerships, expanding access to resources, increasing opportunities for entrepreneurs, and advocating for policies that support business growth and economic mobility throughout our state.
We envision a Wisconsin where Latin@ owned businesses thrive, innovation flourishes, and opportunity is accessible to all who are willing to pursue it. A Wisconsin where entrepreneurs from every background are welcomed, supported, connected, and empowered to succeed. But the work is not done.
There are still entrepreneurs searching for guidance. Businesses seeking access to capital. Communities looking for economic opportunity. Future business owners waiting for someone to believe in them and help them take that first step. The opportunities before us are tremendous, but no one organization can accomplish this work alone. The Wisconsin Latino Chamber of Commerce cannot do it alone. Entrepreneurs cannot do it alone. Communities cannot do it alone.
If we want to create a stronger economy, expand opportunity, support future generations of business owners, and build a more prosperous Wisconsin, we must do it together. That is why I invite you to join us.

The story of Wisconsin’s Latin@ business community is still being written. It is a story of determination, innovation, sacrifice, and achievement. It is a story I am proud to be a part of. And it is a story that the Wisconsin Latino Chamber of Commerce will continue to champion for generations to come.
